Ray Bradbury

     Mildred Montag is the wife of Guy Montag. Mildred has a bland life listening to her parlor walls (interactive TV) and her seashell (earbuds) all day. She believes that the people in the parlor walls are her real family. One day Mildred overdoses on sleeping pills. Guy Montag has to call an ambulance to have her stomach emptied. Afterwards Mildred does not remember that she overdosed. 

     One day, Guy shows her the books that he has stolen from fires and they read them together. Guy keeps reading the books to her, even though she does not understand them. Pushed to the breaking point Mildred becomes hysterical and turns Guy in.
